Fruit is tasty! It can be sweet or sour. But did you know it can also be sneaky? That's right! When people or animals eat fruit, we are actually helping new fruit trees to grow. Fruit is full of seeds. Because it looks so pretty and tastes so good, many animals and people eat it. When we do this, we drop the seeds in different places. Many of those fallen seeds get covered with soil. Then they are watered by the rain and warmed by the sun. With the help of the soil, sun, and water, these new seeds can grow into new plants and trees.


Sneaky seeds can be hidden in a fruit in many ways. Some fruits contain only one giant seed. It is called a pit. A peach has a pit. Other fruits hide several small seeds. Apples, lemons, and pears have small seeds tucked safely inside. Some fruits .....
