Suzy got up early. It was the first day of school. She was so happy. She was starting kindergarten!


She put on her red dress. She put on her shoes and socks. She tied a red ribbon in her hair. She was all dressed.


Dad took Suzy to school. He took her to her classroom. Suzy saw her teacher.


"Mrs. Brown, this is Suzy," Dad said. "Suzy, this is Mrs. Brown. She is your teacher."


"I am so glad you are here, Suzy," Mrs. Brown said. She took Suzy by the hand. She led her to a table.


"Maria and Sam, this is Suzy," Mrs. Brown said. "She is in our class."


Maria smiled at Suzy.


"Hi!" Sam said.


Suzy sat down in the chair. She watched Maria and Sam.


"Look, Suzy," Sam said. "I can cut out these stars."


Sam picked up some scissors. He cut out five stars.


"Look, Suzy," Maria said. "I can cut out these circles."


Maria picked up the scissors. She cut out three circles.
