There Is No Such Thing as a Stupid Question

How many times have you heard the phrase "There is no such thing as a stupid question"? The purpose of this phrase is usually to encourage people, especially kids, to ask more questions. This can be in the classroom or at home. No matter where you are or what you are doing, adults seem to love it when kids ask questions.

Believe it or not, an actual holiday has been dedicated to this cause. It is called National Ask a Stupid Question Day. It is celebrated on the last school day in September or September 28. This "holiday" started in the 1980s. Teachers designed this holiday so that kids would ask more questions in school since some children are reluctant to ask questions in class.

There are many instances when asking a good question can make a big difference in your life. If you don't understand something in math class, it is good to ask a question about it. Otherwise, you might not do so well on the next math test. Asking questions can save your grade.
