The smell of bread baking is one that most people know. The smell can fill a house. It can fill a bakery. It can even fill a town if the town has a bread factory. No matter the place, almost everyone likes the smell of bread.


November 17th is Homemade Bread Day. Today, most people buy their bread at a grocery store. Some people buy bread in a bakery. Some people still make their own bread.


Making bread can take all day. After the dough is mixed, it is kneaded. When dough is kneaded, it is folded over. It is pressed down. Then the dough is left alone to rise. Next it is shaped into loaves. Then it has to rise some more. It is baked. When it has cooled, it is ready to eat.
