What Is a Worm Test?

Wiggling, wonderful worms are fun to find in a garden. Did you know that some people even do an informal soil test called a worm test? A worm test is not an exam given to worms at tiny, underground desks. After all, they can't even hold pencils! If you want to do your own worm test, the soil temperature should be at least 55 degrees, and the soil should be slightly moist. First, dig a hole approximately one foot across and about one foot deep. Put the soil you dig up on a piece of cardboard or a tarp. Then, count how many worms you find in the soil .....
