Would You Fly If You Could?

Would you fly if you could? The teacher wrote that question on the board.

"Please think about this question tonight," she said. "Tomorrow we will talk about it in class."

What a strange question, Aimee thought. Of course, I would fly if I could!

It would be so much fun to fly. She would fly from tree to tree. She would fly over an ocean. She would look at all the fish. She would see every whale. She would just fly until she had to stop.

Uh-oh! Aimee began to think about other things. What if she got lost? What would she do? Every tree would look just like all the other ones. There would be no trees or anything else to help her find her way across an ocean. Maybe she would have to fly when she was tired. How would she know which way to go home?
