Maiasaura

Maiasaura (MY-uh-SORE-uh) was a duckbilled dinosaur called a hadrosaur (HAD-ruh-sore). Maiasaura had a long, wide snout. It had a broad beak that looked like a duck's bill. It ate plants. It had extra rows of teeth in its jaws. When one tooth broke off or fell out, another tooth moved into its place. It walked on four legs most of the time. Sometimes it walked on its two back legs. Maiasaura means "good mother lizard." Fossils showed that this dinosaur took care of its babies. Mothers made their nests close to one another. Each Maiasaura mother made a nest in the dirt. She laid thirty to forty eggs in the nest. Then she covered it with leaves and dirt to keep the eggs warm. Maiasaura .....
