Bosco's Manners
By Mary Lynn Bushong

"Get down, you silly dog!" said Dad as he came in the door after work. "Don't jump on me!"

Dad put out his hands to stop Bosco from jumping up on him. The dog barked and wagged his tail.

     "Joe," Dad called out.

"I'm here, Dad," said Joe rushing out of his room.

"I am tired of being jumped on when I come home. You need to teach your dog some manners," said Dad.

"I don't know how to do that, Dad," said Joe.

"You must spend more time with him," said Dad. "When you were small, we taught you your manners. We did not just tell you once and expect you to understand. You must do the same thing for your dog."

"Would you help me, Dad?" asked Joe.

"I will show you how to teach your dog, but you get to do the work," said Dad.
