Acadia National Park
By Meg Leonard |
|
1 Acadia National Park is in Maine. It is on Mount Desert Island. This is along the coast of Maine. The island is not really a desert. It was named by an explorer. He was describing the bare mountains he found. Part of the mainland and some smaller islands are part of the park, too. The weather can be very cold with lots of snow in the winter. Summers can be warm. The ocean causes a lot of precipitation. It will rain often in the warmer months. Snow or ice storms can happen in the winter.
