1 Committing yourself to something is when you do not quit one thing for another. Your parents and your teacher want you to commit yourself to reading every night. You will create good reading habits by reading every night. The opposite of committed is uncommitted. Parents and teachers are not uncommitted to you. They are committed to you even when they are busy. They have committed to teach you new things. They help you grow to become smarter. They show you how to be nice, too.
