2     Dr. Seuss's real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel. He went by the nickname Ted. Ted worked for a magazine when he was in college. He used his middle name to sign the things he wrote. Ted had many jobs. He loved drawing and writing the most. He followed his dream. He became such a good writer and illustrator that everyone came to know him as Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss had always loved to draw cartoons. He loved to laugh and be silly, too. His first book was called And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. He wrote books so he could draw silly cartoons and write funny words to go with them. Kids and their parents loved the stories he wrote. When Dr. Seuss would get writer's block, he would .....
