Keeping Your Skeletal System Healthy

1 Your skeletal system is your body's support system. It keeps you standing tall. It protects you. It helps you move from place to place. Your skeletal system does a lot for you. What can you do for it? One of the jobs of your skeletal system is to protect you from injury. Your skull helps to keep your brain safe when you fall and hit your head. Your skull is strong, but it needs to be protected, too! Wear a helmet if you are doing something that might cause you to hurt your head. It is important to wear a helmet when you play sports like baseball or hockey. The ball or puck can move very fast. It could break your skull if it hit your head! Wear a helmet just to be safe. You should also wear a helmet when you ride your bicycle. Sometimes accidents happen so quickly that you don't have time to keep your head from hitting the ground.![]() |
