An Exploration Discovery
By Mary Lynn Bushong

1     The TV program switched off as Nathaniel pressed the button on the remote. "I wish I could go to some of those places they just showed on that sci-fi program," said Nathaniel. "I want to be an astronaut and discover all kinds of new places in outer space." He thought to himself for a few minutes and then said, "Yes, I think I want to be an explorer."

2     Natalie put down the book she was reading and laughed at Nathaniel. "So which is it going to be - an explorer or an astronaut? Or maybe it will be a scientist like you said last week. Of course, before that, it was an engineer."

3     Nathaniel didn't let his sister see that he understood her sarcasm but stared off at the TV screen deep in thought. "I think it would be great fun to be an explorer," he finally said. "To be able to see things for the first time and document all that you find -- that seems like it would be the best job ever."
