Aliona Savchenko
By Erin Horner

1     She twirls. She spins. She jumps. She does all this and more. Amazingly, she does it all on ice skates! Aliona Savchenko is a figure skater. She and her partner are set to skate in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

2     Aliona skates for Germany, but she was not born there. She was born in the Ukraine. She began ice skating when she was just three years old. Aliona used to skate on frozen lakes. When she was five, she entered a figure skating school. She was a natural!
