1 Iguanodon (ih-GWAHN-uh-don) was the second dinosaur to be found and named. Iguanodon had no front teeth. Its back teeth were wide and flat for grinding the plants that it ate. They looked like a modern-day iguana's teeth. Its name means "iguana tooth." At the front of its jaws was a horny beak, much like that of a tortoise. This was used to cut twigs and leaves.
