1     Eric Carle knows about nature. He knows about writing. He knows about art. He knows about children. He knows that reading should be fun. He works hard to make that happen.
 
2     Eric Carle is a famous author. He is known for his illustrations. His illustrations are collages. The collages are made of paper. The paper is hand-painted. He cuts the papers. Sometimes he even tears them. He layers the papers to make bright pictures.
 
3     Eric Carle was born on June 25, 1929. He was born in New York. His parents were from Germany. Germany is a country in Europe. When he was six years old, his family moved to Germany. He went to school there. He later went to a famous art school.
