Stop, Drop, and Roll
By Jennifer Kenny
1 It was Fire Safety Week. Fireman Smith was visiting school. Today he was coming to talk to Miss Johnson's class.
2 "Good morning, class," Miss Johnson said. "Today we have a special guest. Please welcome Fireman Smith. He's here to teach us something very important."
3 As the children greeted Fireman Smith, he started talking. "Good morning. You have had a very special week. You have visited the firehouse. You met Sparky, the firehouse dog. You got to stand on a fire truck. Today you are going to practice something that is very important."
4 "Can anyone tell me about fire safety?" asked Fireman Smith.
5 "Don't play with fire," Jill said.
