1     Eric Carle is best known for his books for children. The Very Hungry Caterpillar has sold over twenty-nine million copies. It has been translated into more than forty-seven languages. Eric Carle is an author. He is also the illustrator of his books. He has illustrated more than seventy books. His very unique artwork brings his stories to life.
 
2     How does Eric Carle create such fun illustrations? He begins with tissue paper. He paints each sheet very carefully. First he uses bold strokes. After it has dried, he paints more colors and shapes. More drying time is needed after each layer of paint. Then he begins cutting shapes. He uses a very sharp tool. The tool allows him to make small exact cuts in the paper. .....
