Candace Cameron Bure
By Brenda B. Covert
1 Born on April 6, 1976, Candace Cameron was one of four siblings. Candace, the kid sister of child actor Kirk Cameron, followed in her brother's footsteps and began acting at age five. She first appeared in TV commercials before moving on to guest appearances on shows such as St. Elsewhere, Who's the Boss, and her brother's hit show, Growing Pains. The youngster with blue-gray eyes and blonde hair also had small parts in a few movies while she was growing up.
2 At ten, Candace landed the role of D.J. Tanner on Full House. America watched her grow up during the eight-year run of that hit comedy series. The series ended in May 1995. The following summer, Candace married NHL hockey star Valeri Bure [pronounced bur-A].
3 Candace Cameron Bure's acting career didn't end with Full House, though she did leave the limelight for a while to start a family with her husband. She took on serious work in NBC specials called No One Would Tell, She Cried No, and NightScream. She was the executive producer of an educational children's video, The Krew, which stands for Kids Rescuing Everyone Worldwide. Bure called it Spy Kids with a purpose and appeared in it as well. Bure's other projects include starring with Tom Arnold in a 2008 made-for-TV Christmas family drama called Moonlight and Mistletoe and also starring in a family series called Make It or Break It that premiered in 2009. It ended in 2012. Bure has also written three books, one of which was a New York Times best-seller. In 2014, she appeared on Dancing with the Stars and went on to win third place. In 2015, Candace joined the panel on The View and also announced that she will again play the role of D.J. Tanner in a new Netflix series called Fuller House. The story will center on the grownup D.J. and her children.
