2     Robert Peary tried for more twenty years to be the first man to reach the North Pole. During those twenty-three years, he led eight missions. Seven times, he experienced failure. Peary became frustrated, but he never gave up on his dreams. Robert Peary persevered by trying over and over again until he was able to reach the North Pole.
