Owen has been doing a good job watching fats and sugars. Like many people, though, his diet has too much sodium. Sodium comes from a lot of places, including salt. Some salt is good for you. Sodium helps your body balance its fluids. It can help your nerves and muscles work better. Too much sodium can hurt your kidneys and your heart.
Salt is in many foods. Processed foods, like fast food and ready-made meals from the grocery store, have a lot of salt in them. Canned soup has a large amount of salt.
