The Great Wall of China

1     The Great Wall winds more than five thousand miles across northern China like a gigantic Chinese dragon. At one time, the wall was the dividing line between China and its enemies. An army of Chinese workers built the Great Wall. They worked to keep out invading armies. The wall was made of stone and earth with brick on the outside. At some places, the wall was over forty feet tall and thirty feet thick. A roadway was built on top so that Chinese soldiers could easily travel along the wall .....
