Insects Worksheets

There are millions of kinds of insects, the most diverse group of animals on Earth, and they live in nearly all environments, from rain forests to oceans. Insects are interesting, partly because their young look completely different from the grown-ups. Most insects go through a three- or four-stage metamorphosis from eggs to adults. All insects share some common traits: six legs, antennae, and a segmented body that is divided into three sections: the head, thorax, and abdomen. Many insects have wings. With more than 18,000 kinds of butterflies and around 400,000 kinds of beetles, insects have more members than any other animal group. Read about this very interesting and diverse group of animals, and have fun with our insect puzzles and activities.
