A Collection of Best Friends

"Can you have more than one best friend?" I asked Stephanie.

Stephanie pursed her lips. "I don't know. If you have more than one, how can anyone be best?"

I thought about that. If I went purely by logic, Stephanie was right. However, I don't really like the idea of one "best" friend. You see, I have lots of friends. Each one seems the best in different ways.

Stephanie is my best school friend. We have been friends for more than five years, having met in kindergarten. She and I have been in the same school and see each other nearly every day.
