Aachoo!

It started as a tickle. Try as I might I could not get the wriggly feeling in my nose to go away. I tried to stop it. I tried to be quiet. But before I knew it a huge "A-a-a-achoo!" escaped. I sneezed. Why do we sneeze? Sneezing is a reflex. It is our body's way of helping to protect our nose and our lungs. Sometimes little pieces of dirt or dust sneak up into our nose. When the nerves in your nose notice these tiny intruders they send your brain a message. Your brain then sends a message to your spinal cord and then on to the muscles in your belly and diaphragm. Then your midsection muscles and lungs .....
