Ahhh...

"Ahhh..." Charlene said as she settled into her favorite rocking chair. The baby was asleep, Charlene had a good book nearby, and she was about to take a sip of her favorite flavored coffee - chocolate mint.

Charlene let the rich, chocolaty flavor slide over her tongue. She closed her eyes and began to rock. This was one of her favorite parts of the day. Little Michael took a morning nap at about 10:30 each morning. He got up at 6:30 and kept Charlene running until he was ready for that nap. He was an active baby, and Charlene loved spending time with him. However, she admitted to herself that she was tired.

Charlene used to use the 90-or-so minute naptime to do chores. She would wash dishes, dust, or catch up on paperwork at the desk. However, the more she did that, the more stressed and resentful she became. She craved some quiet moments to read and take a breath. She remembered telling her husband, Kevin, about it last weekend. The conversation had started while they finished their supper.

"I never seem to have a moment to myself," she said to Kevin, who took his last bite of spaghetti and then rose to help Charlene clear the table.

"Why not?" Kevin asked.
