An Account of Her Own

Molly was twelve. She had celebrated her birthday on Tuesday. Today she was going to the bank with her father and mother. She was going to open a savings account. She wanted to deposit her birthday money in it.


The White family drove to the bank.


"Good morning," the security guard said as they entered.


"Good morning," Mr. White said.


They walked up to one of the teller windows.


"Good morning. How can I help you?" the teller asked.


"We have a checking account and a savings account here," Mr. White said. "Our daughter, Molly, wants to have her own savings account."


"She would like to deposit her birthday money in her savings account," Mrs. White said.
