Andrew Jackson was the seventh president. He believed that government belonged to all people. He did not think that it was just for the rich. This made him the president for the common man. Jackson was born in 1767. He was born in the Carolinas. He was a very good lawyer. Jackson thought his honor was very important. He sometimes got into fights because of this. Jackson was a major general in the War of 1812. He was elected to the House of Representatives. He also served in the Senate. He was elected president in 1828.
