Do You Have the Map?

"Do you have the map?" Mrs. Green asked her husband as they packed the last of the items into the car.

"I have our new GPS loaded," Mr. Green grunted. He stuffed another box in the back. "You'd think we were moving! What is all this stuff?"

Mrs. Green glanced at him impatiently. "We are going to a wedding, and those are gifts," she said.

"We should have just given them a card with money in it," Mr. Green retorted.

Mrs. Green laughed. She and her husband often bantered like this, but she knew he wasn't really complaining. They were both looking forward to their favorite niece's wedding. It would be a long drive, but it was a very exciting time for the family.

"Do you think we should bring the atlas just in case?" Mrs. Green asked Mr. Green. He had picked up the GPS and was fiddling with it. He did not answer.

Mrs. Green cleared her throat and repeated the question. "Honey, should we also bring the atlas?"

Mr. Green looked up. "What? Oh, yes. I suppose so. Just in case this thing shuts down or something."

Mrs. Green hurried back into the house. She went to the bookshelf and pulled out the United States atlas. It had maps of all the states they would be traveling through. Although she enjoyed technology, she liked having a paper backup.
