Donating Blood

Every day, there are people in hospitals who need blood. They need blood to replace the blood they've lost from a bad accident or during surgery. Many times, there's a shortage of blood to give to people who need it.

Jon heard about that in a public service announcement on television. It made him uneasy, and he wondered what he could do to help. He decided he would donate blood.

He went online and found that, in his state, he had to be at least seventeen years old, healthy, and weigh at least one hundred ten pounds to give blood. He also learned that there was a blood drive scheduled in his town on Tuesday. He decided he would go.
