Finding Rainbows

"The sun is out!" shouted Eric as he raced to his sister's room. "The sun is out, and the rain has stopped. I want to see a rainbow. You promised to show me!"

Mandy sighed. He was right; she had promised. She turned off her MP3 player and set her headphones aside.

"Come on," she said. "If there is a rainbow, I'll show you how to find it."

They walked out to the backyard together, and Eric looked toward the sun. His shoulders drooped with disappointment.

"There's no rainbow," he said sadly.

"That's because you're looking in the wrong direction," said Mandy with a laugh. She held Eric by the shoulders and turned him around. "You have to put your back to the sun and face the rain clouds."

"Wow!" said Eric as his gaze fastened on the beautiful rainbow. "That is so beautiful! Look at the colors."

"Can you tell me what colors you see?" asked Mandy.
