Following Polaris: A Native American Tale

Some hunters wandered through the thick woods. They were unhappy. They had been lost for hours, and night had closed in. Perhaps they could make sense of the tracks tomorrow and stop going in circles.

They decided to make camp where they were and rest. Perhaps they would find their way tomorrow. They made a campfire to keep wild animals away. While they sat around the fire, they ate some of their travel food.

Before they slept, the hunters prayed to the spirits to help them find their way. Suddenly, a shining girl appeared among them. Some of the hunters grabbed their weapons to defend themselves.
