Hailey's Dream

Twice a week, Hailey took a bus ride. She rode from her house to a place she loved more than almost anywhere. Hailey went to a place where she had lots of friends. She went to a place where there was beautiful music. What was this place? It was a dance studio. Hailey was studying to become a ballet dancer.

On the day of her first ballet recital, she was very nervous about the recital. She had many questions for her teacher. Her teacher, Madame Nesterova, would surely be able to answer them.

Hailey had been studying some kind of dance since she was a little girl. She'd always loved dancing. She liked moving to music. There were lots of different kinds of dancing - tap dancing, jazz dancing, and modern dancing. Hailey thought ballet was the prettiest.

Ballet had lots of graceful moves. Ballet dancers used their whole bodies - their arms, their legs, and even their toes! Because the whole body moved, ballet took a lot of strength. Hailey stayed in good shape.

Besides dancing, Hailey ran every day. She ate healthy foods. She stretched her muscles. She worked on her balance. She listened to lots of music. And she practiced and practiced.
