Hot Ideas for Candle Safety

National Fire Prevention Week

Reading Comprehension for October 10

Whoosh! You blow out the candles on your birthday cake. You make a wish. You hope that it comes true! Candles and wishes should be a part of every birthday party.

Candles are fun, but it is important to be careful with them, too. National Fire Prevention Week takes place during the week in which October 9 falls. The National Fire Protection Association's special wish is for everyone to use candles safely.

They would have been a stinking mess in church! Beeswax candles were much better. They smelled good. They lasted a long time.
