Jake and Jackie Learn to Throw a Frisbee

"You'd think everyone would automatically know how to do this," said Jackie as she looked at Jake's new flying disc. "But I've never learned how to throw a Frisbee."

Jake was opening a box of three flying discs. The park up the street had recently installed a disc golf course, and Jake was intrigued. He and his dad had just gotten back from the sporting goods store where they had bought a set of discs. Jake had stopped on the porch when he saw Jackie coming up the street. His dad went inside to get something to drink.

"I haven't thrown one a lot," admitted Jake. "But I'm hoping to learn how to throw one better so that I can go play on the new golf course."

Jackie looked at him quizzically. She wasn't sure about this new game.

Jake's dad came out with cold water for each of them. "Do you want to learn how to throw these?" he asked.

"Yes," Jackie said, while Jake simply nodded.

"Okay, let's go out into the yard away from the house."

"What do you think, we're going to break a window?" Jake teased as he playfully punched his dad on the arm.
