John Kennedy: Presidential TV Star
John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He was born on May 29, 1917, in Boston, Massachusetts. He was born into a family that valued public service. He met many powerful people. He also had a big partner. This partner wasn't family, though. It wasn't even human. His partner was television.
Kennedy's grandfather was a member of Congress. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives. Kennedy's father was an ambassador. Kennedy's older brother went into politics. His family expected John to be involved, too.
Kennedy graduated from Harvard in 1940. He went into the U.S. Navy about a year later. He served during World War II. He was captain of a boat in the South Pacific.
