John Adams was the second president. His son, John Quincy Adams, became our sixth president. He was the first son of a president to also be president. John Quincy Adams was born in Massachusetts. He was a lawyer just like his father. He was like his father in many ways. John Quincy was not elected president by the popular vote. There were four candidates for president.
