Max the Golden Retriever Stays at Paws Palace

Ariel loved her huge, friendly golden retriever, Max. Sometimes Ariel loved Max more than her own brother! Max was her best friend. Now Ariel had a problem. Her family was going away. What could she do with Max?

Ariel's friends loved Max, but they could not take care of him when her family went on vacation. He was too rambunctious! Ariel wanted to find a good "home away from home" for her furry friend. She wanted to be sure her dog was safe and well cared for. Ariel asked her friends if they had suggestions. She talked to her veterinarian. With her parents' permission, she even found a website that listed dog boarding facilities by city and state. She was excited when she found a kennel called Paws Palace close to her house.

As she did her research, Ariel found out that facilities have different approaches to boarding. Some places keep the dogs in cages and let them out for runs a couple of times a day. This might be fine for a dog that was used to being in a crate sometimes. It might be harder for a dog that was used to more freedom. Some facilities have staff members that take the dogs on walks. Others have a fenced-in area for dogs to run around in and stretch their legs. Ariel knew that Max needed to run around, and she found out that the dogs at Paws Palace could run in a play yard several times a day.
