Tom wants a hamburger. Kate wants chicken nuggets. Mom wants a cheeseburger. Dad wants a salad. Where can this family go so each person will get what he or she wants? McDonald's!

McDonald's was started in 1940. It was started by two brothers. Richard and Maurice McDonald started a hamburger restaurant. It was in California. The restaurant workers worked in an assembly line. An assembly line is a line of workers. Each worker does one task. For example, one worker was in charge of making the hamburgers. Another was in charge of toppings. Another was in charge of wrapping them up.
