Oops, I Bounced

Josh ran into the bank. He had a look of panic on his face. A teller saw him. "Can I help you?" she asked.

"Is Kate around? I need to see her. She's been helping me with my new checking account," Josh said breathlessly.

"Have a seat for a minute. I'll get her for you," the teller told Josh.

Soon Kate came out of her office. "How nice to see you, Josh. How can I help you today?"

Josh pulled an envelope out of his pocket. "I got this letter from the bank," he said, showing it to Kate.

"Uh-oh," Kate said, "that doesn't look good."

"Can you explain it to me?" Josh asked.

Kate took the letter out of the envelope. "This is an overdraft notice," she told Josh. "You tried to take money out of the bank when there was not enough in your account to cover it."

"How can that be?" Josh asked. "I have tried to keep track of all my transactions."
