Perishables

Many people don't need to make a big shopping trip to the grocery store every week. But they do need to visit the store for perishables. Perishables are foods that will decay or spoil after a short period of time. This usually includes foods like milk, eggs, meat, fruits, vegetables, and cheese.

None of these foods will go bad in the short trip from the store to your house. If you are worried that the trip will take too long, you can bring a cooler to put the food in. If it takes you more than thirty minutes to get home, you should bring a cooler. This will help keep it cold until you can get it home.

Plan to shop for perishables last if you are going to many different places that day. Don't buy milk, put it in the car, and then go for a long lunch. Stop for lunch first, and then buy the milk.
