Pet Care in the Summer

Summer is a great time for everyone. The weather is warmer, so people and pets can spend more time outdoors. But along with the warmer weather comes new dangers that you and your pet have to look out for.

When the weather is nice, it is tempting to take your pet with you while you run errands. It doesn't seem that hot outside, and you are sure that if you leave the window cracked that your pet will be fine. Even if you're parked in the shade, a car can reach 120 degrees in a matter of minutes.

Dogs do not sweat like humans do. They cool themselves by panting or by losing heat through the pads on their feet. It only takes a few minutes before the heat can kill a dog.
