Religious Freedom Day

Many people around the world believe in a religion. There are lots of different religions, from Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism. There are many others who believe in no religion at all. How do you think those kinds of choices should be made? Should someone tell you what to choose, or should you choose on your own?

Many people believe religion - and how to practice it - is a very personal choice. Many believe that no one should be told what religion to believe or how to practice a religion.

In many places around the world, that's not the case. Religious choices are made for people. In some countries, the government decides what your religion will be. The government tells you where to worship and how to worship. If you choose not to do as the government says, you will be punished.
