Sand and Gravel

Sand and gravel are natural resources. They come from larger rocks. Weathering causes pieces of larger rocks to break off. These small pieces of rock become sand or gravel. Sand is smaller than gravel. Rocks to make sand and gravel can also be dug out of the ground at a quarry. Then the rocks are taken to a processing plant where they are crushed into smaller pieces.
