The 2010 Winter Olympics

The XXI Olympic Winter Games will be held in Canada in February 2010. Vancouver, British Columbia is the host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics. This will be the third time Canada has hosted the Games. The 1976 Summer Games was held in Montreal. The 1988 Winter Games were held in Calgary. The 2010 Games will be the first ever to have their Opening Ceremony held indoors.


The mascots for the 2010 Games were unveiled in 2007. They were inspired by First Nations' legends. First Nations are the Pacific Northwest's Native American people. The mascots are named Miga, Quatchi, and Sumi.
