The Coelophysis
When you think of the word "dinosaur," you may think of a gigantic animal that was bigger than a school bus. But not all dinosaurs were huge. Coelophysis (SEE low FY siss) was a small dinosaur. It weighed about the same as a turkey. Its name means "hollow form." It was named for its hollow bones. Its body from head to tail was about ten feet long. Half of that length was the tail. It walked on its two slender back legs. It had short arms with three fingers on each hand. It also had a long neck, a long, narrow head, and many sharp teeth!
