The Colonies Grow

The colonies grew. Colonists came from England, Ireland, and Scotland. They came from Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, and France, too. They sold lumber, fish, and furs to Europe. In return, they imported cloth and tools. Lumber was cut from the many forests in the colonies. It was used to build homes, stores, and public buildings. Colonial villages grew into busy towns.
