The Florida Panther

When you think of a panther, you probably imagine a smooth, black animal quietly stalking through the trees. Florida panthers are quiet, solitary animals, but they aren't black. They have tan coats and light gray bellies. They live in the low pinelands, the palm forests, and the swamps of southern Florida. They are territorial animals. They will defend a certain area as their own. Male panthers might wander around an area of 200 square miles. Female panthers usually roam in areas less than half that size.
