The Tattoo Mystery

Sarah was usually the calm one in her family, and she never did anything bold. However, she had always been curious about tattoos and thought she might get a real one someday. She did not want a big tattoo; she just wanted a small flower in a place that would not show. Sarah told her little sister that she was thinking about getting an inconspicuous tattoo when she turned eighteen.

"What kind of tattoo would you get?" asked Stacy with great excitement.

Stacy looked up to Sarah and felt happy when her big sister confided in her. Stacy, in contrast to her sister, had lively overreactions to everything. Fifteen-year-old Stacy was trying to learn to be more patient. At the moment, she was bouncing up and down like a Mexican jumping bean.

"I might get a tiny flower on my shoulder," said Sarah with a toss of her blonde hair.

"Do you think Mom and Dad would mind?" asked Stacy.

"I don't know. I haven't asked them, but they might not like it," said Sarah.

A few weeks later when Sarah turned eighteen, she had a big party at her house and invited a lot of friends. She served a mountain of a cake and gallons of ice cream to her friends. She enjoyed getting presents and celebrating this big moment in her life with her friends. Later, Sarah and Stacy were talking in Sarah's room about the big day.

"Thanks for helping with my party," Sarah said. "I got the funniest present from Beth. Do you want to see my tattoo?"
