African elephants are amazing animals. Their enormous ears and titanic tusks make them easy to identify. Did you know that an elephant's tusks are actually long teeth? These teeth are made out of ivory. They are the heaviest and longest teeth of any animal that is alive. Unlike our teeth, elephant tusks never stop growing. Elephants use their tusks as tools. In the wild, tusks are used for digging. The elephants use them like a shovel to dig up plant roots. They also use them to dig for water during the dry seasons. When necessary, elephants can also use their tusks for fighting. Males may fight with their tusks .....
